  • My researches focus on systematic documentation of formaldehyde emission from native wood, Virginia pine to be more specific. The influences to formaldehyde emission due to various kinds of treatments are also investigated carefully, which includes heat treatments and acid or base immersion. The ultimate purpose is to relate formaldehyde emission to wood components and organization, and try to elucidate the emission mechanism. Another side project I spent lots of time is investigation of mechanical properties for transgenic switchgrass.
